First British edition. The present volume describes the various descents made by the author in the steel ball known as the Bathysphere, to an extreme depth in the ocean of over half a mile while carrying out research on the life of the waters around Nonsuch, Bermuda.
Condition
8vo, orig. dec. black cloth with fish and bathysphere design to front cover; minor wear to extremities. Rear hinge cracked, but firm. Owner's name to endpaper, faint inscription to half-title.
