Description:
Photogravure, colour and b/w pictures reproduced from Photographs by Richard and Cherry Kearton. Descriptive text by Richard Kearton. The brothers Richard (1862-1928) and Cherry Kearton (1871-1940) were some of the world's earliest wildlife photographers, who innovated methods to photograph animals in the wild, previously photography had been limited to studio work or staged settings. The Keartons’ use of camouflage and tree-top hides set a new standard in the field. The brothers published some of the earliest wildlife photography books and produced films that brought viewers closer to nature than ever before. Nature Pictures continues this legacy, offering a valuable historical perspective on the evolution of wildlife photography.
