3 vols. Vg set. From the library of K.G.V. Smith (1929-2017), leading British Dipterist at the Natural History Museum, London, and editor of the 'Entomologist’s Monthly Magazine', with his name to the endpaper of Vol. 1. Loosely inserted are a letter from the publisher to K.G.V. Smith presenting a complimentary copy of Vol. 2 and acknowledging his contribution to the chapter on the Conopidae; a book review inscribed and signed by its author, Graham Griffiths; a letter from the Entomological Society of America addressed to the leading editior of the present work, J. McAlpine, announcing that the 'Nearctic Diptera' had been chosen for the first Thomas Say Award; a copy of J. McAlpine's acceptance speech; 2 photographs relating to the Thomas Say award.
