Offprint from Proceedings of he Royal Society, B. Vol. 95. Obituary notice of the famous explorer and naturalist Alfred Russel Wallace (1823-1913), who independently of Charles Darwin, proposed the idea of evolution by natural selection.

8vo, orig. wrappers, stitched, some wear to spine, lightly bumped to top corner, small label (partly removed) to front wrapper. From the library of K.G.V. Smith (1929-2017) with his signature to wrapper and occasional light pencil markings/annotations to margins; also with faint name stamp of previous owner.
