Description:

A lecture delivered before the Young Men's Christian Association, in Exeter Hall on 17th, 1863. The publications committee of the YMCA was at first reluctant to publish the lecture, evidently because they thought it undermined the authenticity of the book of Genesis. However, it did appear separately, and in the volume of lectures for 1863-1864. Owen also published a version with the addition of approximately 15 pages.
