Large paper, de-luxe editiion, bound in vellum, with illustrations mounted on thick brown paper. Issued in limited number for private distribution.
Condition
Roy. 8vo (260x165mm), orig. full vellum, gt title and rules to spine, teg, other edges uncut. Fine. Inscribed by the author to his wife 'Alice M. McWilliam from J.M. McWilliam, October 20th, 1927'. Loosely inserted is a watercolour drawing by Mrs O.H. Wild, of five snipe eggs taken on Bute, annotated in John McWilliam's hand, 'These were painted for me by Mrs O.H. Wild'. A pencil note to the endpaper states that Mrs Wild was the wife of Dr Wild, 'a noted Scots naturalist'.
