Condition
2 vols, 8vo, cont. full prize calf, lightly scuffed, gilt crest of Gonville & Caius College, University of Cambridge, to front and rear boards, raised bands to spines with gilt tooling to compartments, marbled edges and endpapers. Small stain to prelims of one volume. Vg set. Prize inscription dated 1909 to Harold Munro Fuchs [Fox] to verso of front free endpapers. (An attempt has been made to erase the name Fuchs, which has caused a light stain to the preliminaries). Harold Munro Fox FRS (1889-1967) was a British zoologist. His main area of research was on marine invertebrates such as ostracod Crustacea. He was elected a Fellow of the Royal Society in 1937 and won the society's Darwin Medal in 1966.
