The sixth edition is regarded as the last and is extensively revised, with a new chapter, VII, inserted to confute the views of the Roman Catholic biologist St George Mivart, and a Glossary, compiled by W.S. Dallas. The title is changed to 'The Origin of Species', and it is in the 6th edition that the word 'evolution' appears for the first time.
