Text English/German. Father Gabriel Strobl (1846-1925), a renowned dipterist, spent most of his life at the Benedictine monastery of Admont, in the Austrian Alps. He published many papers on Alpine and south European Diptera and built up a natural history museum in the monastery, including 50,000 specimens of Diptera. He described 902 new species-group names (species, varieties or forms), which are revised in this book. Information is given on all type specimens in the Stroble Diptera collection, their type-status, designations and identifications
